Classic Indian dessert made of milk solid (khoya) balls, deep fried and soaked in a rose-scented sugar syrup.

    Gather and prepare all ingredients as specified in the ingredient list.

    Syrup: Boil sugar, water, and cardamom pods until slightly sticky (one-string consistency not required).

    Keep warm.

    Dough: Mix milk powder, flour, and baking powder.

    Rub in ghee.

    Add milk little by little to form a soft, slightly sticky dough.

    Do not knead.

    Grease hands and roll dough into small, crack-free balls.

    Heat oil/ghee on low heat (approx 140°C / 285°F).

    Fry the balls slowly until golden brown.

    Stir gently for even color.

    Drain and immediately drop into the warm sugar syrup.

    Let them soak for at least 30 minutes before serving.
